Chronic Venous Insufficiency is the disease process that causes varicose veins. It is the most common disease in North America with one in three adults suffering from this problem. Although varicose veins are the most easily and commonly recognized symptom, very common symptoms also include throbbing and shooting pain, heaviness, tiredness, burning, itching, swelling, skin darkening, thickening, and skin ulcers.
These problems are very easily and quickly treated in our office without the use of incisions, IVs, or going under general anesthesia. Our office uses the latest laser and chemical foam techniques to deal with every problematic vein in a patient's leg, usually eliminating symptoms within days or weeks of the final procedure. The complication rate is less than half of 1% for these procedures and are generally covered by most insurance plans.
Compression stocking therapy is the first part of our protocol, but is in no way a definitive treatment for this problem. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, or if you have unsightly varicose veins, please schedule an appointment with us.
